Translation 71: Bokura no Hen Byoushi Chapter 1

A new project over at Viscans. Each of the chapters is a separate short story with little to no connection to each other. This first chapter is a whopping 66 pages long.

The first story is an odd one. It touches on drugs in Japanese society. Obviously there must be a musician somewhere, and in this one it's a guy who plays the piano. But he had to stop because his hand didn't work as well as it did after being run over by a bike.

One day, he finds himself wondering into a building that he had thought was abandoned. There he runs into Arishima, who ends up being a high school drug dealer who gets it from some Columbian she knows. They have a rough first encounter, but slowly find an affinity for eachother.

But what's this? The police come by her place looking for the Columbian which sets Arishima in fear. Will the Columbian squeal her out? Is she going to have to quit high school? What about her dream to visit Mexico to check out the mushrooms?

But wait, some stranger start making passes on Saki while Katsuki is gone? Whats going to happento her?

Translation 68: Go Tenba Cheerleaders Chapter 18

A chapter focusing on Minori! It starts off with her getting a love letter from a guy named Shiina as she arrives at school in the morning. Summer is coming and the guys of Tenba High are entering mating season. They all ogle over her breasts and just plain silliness ensues.

If you aren't prepared for lots potty jokes about eating hot dogs and such, you may want to sit this chapter out.

gWaei 1.1Dev Started

I have been working with my git repository and have made some nice progress. The reworking of the main gWaei interface has done wonders.

Among the changes:
  • Like kanji results are grouped, the kanji lookup now gives stroke order instructions
  • There is a clear button in the search entry, a new search button all the way to the right
  • The colors of the entry turn to your highlight color settings when you hit enter or press the search button
  • We have a progress bar on the bottom, the dictionaries can now be switched by alt-#
  • Tab and shift-tab have been switched to alt-up and alt-down for cycleing dictionaries
  • Alt-left and alt-right finally appear correctly in the history menu for their shortcuts
  • There is a new spellcheck togglebutton in the toolbar
  • A new "edit" menuitem which will open up your vocab list that you have been saving/adding to during your gWaei session.
Yes...there have been a lot of changes. I am thinking of releasing 1.1 into the wild in a week or 2.

gWaei 1.0.1 released!

Still haven't updated the page but it is out. Get it while it is hot. It has some small fixes. For users, it fixes the auto-conversion of "ge" to the hiragana "ge" instead of "ke".

gnome-doc-utils is no longer required when compiling only the console version of gWaei. This cuts out a dependency that should never have been there in the first place, but was left because I couldn't figure out if statements in configure.ac.

The last big developement is I finally have the git repo for gWaei up! Hopefully I can get some other developers helping me work. Also, the users can se the progress as it goes along.

Since Gnome 2.26 is about to become stable on Gentoo in probably the next week, I'm going to start winding up on the development of gWaei 1.1/2.0 soon. (Yay)

Translation 67: Sekitou Elegy Chapter 11

Satoshi is forced to speak more casually to Chiiko, and they also learn that they have similar names when written in kanji. Satoshi also finally finds out Chiikas REAL name. (OMG)
